Meet Dr. Golaleh Barzani, DMD, FACS

Dr. Barzani is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon practicing the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Her clinical interests include open TMJ surgery and total joint replacement, TMJ arthroscopy, treatment of TMJ disorders, corrective jaw surgery, maxillomandibular advancement for obstructive sleep apnea, pathology, facial reconstruction, salivary gland pathology, alveolar cleft repair, lingual and alveolar nerve repair, complex facial trauma, dental implants and wisdom teeth, IV sedation, and management of myofascial pain syndrome.

Dr. Barzani obtained her bachelor’s degree at the University of California in Berkeley and attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Her postdoctoral education includes a general practice residency at Staten Island University Hospital, an internship, and a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Brooklyn Hospital Center. Prior to moving to New York she was an attending surgeon and assistant professor of surgery at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in Pennsylvania. During her time at Geisinger Medical Center, she practiced the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery at a busy level one trauma center. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, member of American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Cleft Lip and Palate Association and a Fellow of American College of Surgeons.
