Saratoga County Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates is a group surgical practice founded by Dr. Robert D. Carpenter in 1997. When Dr. Carpenter announced his retirement from private practice in February of 2010, his former partners Dr. Lionel A. Bulford and Dr. Joseph V. Olszowka reaffirmed their commitment to the continuation of the practice and to excellent surgical care.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Drs. Bulford, Olszowka and McDermott manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Drs. Bulford, Olszowka and McDermott practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from Dental Implant Surgery and Wisdom Tooth Removal to Corrective Jaw Surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We can also diagnose and treat Facial Pain, Facial Injuries and Fractures.
Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) Sedation or outpatient General Anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.
Surgical Staff
To facilitate the best possible care, the surgical staff at Saratoga County Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates includes four surgically trained registered nurses and four experienced oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants. All surgical staff members are BLS (Basic Life Support – CPR) certified. Our RN's have completed ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification as well.
