Danielle Whitacre – Office Manager
Danielle began her career with us in 2008 as a patient care coordinator. She was promoted to team leader and then office manager in 2014. Danielle is knowledgeable in all aspects of the practice. It is Danielle who implements and maintains our office systems, and procedures and ensures that all aspects of our 5 practice locations integrate seamlessly with the excellent care provided by our doctors, nurses and surgical teams.
Donna Tucker – Team Leader
Donna Tucker has a dental background of more than 20 years. Starting as a patient care coordinator in 2012 Donna was promoted to Team Leader in 2014. Donna is involved with many aspects of the front office; from answering phones, scheduling appointments, training new administrative staff, to obtaining insurance and treatment planning. Donna provides guidance, instruction, direction and leadership.
Rebecca Carr – Implant Coordinator
Rebecca has been with the practice since 2014. Today, as implant coordinator, she works exclusively with implant patients educating them about implant treatment, coordinating appointments throughout the entire treatment sequence and answering questions that may arise. The coordinator is a direct liaison between our office and the referring dentist’s office.
Lori Polerstock – Insurance/Financial Coordinator
Lori Polerstock has been with our practice since 2013 and became the practice Insurance & Financial Coordinator in 2014. Lori has an extensive background in insurance and billing. She is sharp and resourceful as the Insurance & Financial Coordinator and deftly navigates the nuances of financial and insurance issues for all of our patients.
Michelle Watkins – Nurse Manager
Michelle Watkins BSN, RN started her career with our practice in 2007 as a Registerd Nurse and earned her Bachelors of Science in nursing in 2014. She has applied expertise and experience to the management of five practice locations and a staffing mix including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and clerical staff. She possesses analytical, organizational, time management, nurse advocacy and communication skills. Michelle assesses needs and develops and implements plans to maximize the delivery of quality patient care.
To facilitate the best possible patient care, we also have five experienced oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants on our staff. All surgical staff members are BLS (Basic Life Support – CPR) certified. Our surgical support staff represents over 125 years of clinical experience to better serve our patients.
The surgical staff at Saratoga County Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates (SCOMSA) includes five surgically trained registered nurses (RN’s) and one Licensed Practical Nurse who assist in the administration of IV sedation and general anesthesia during surgery. Having six full time nurses available to monitor our patients during the administration of anesthesia as well as during the recovery phase of treatment is unprecedented in our area. Our goal is to provide each patient with the highest level of surgical care possible in an office environment. Our RN’s are not only BLS (Basic Life Support) certified but they hold the distinction of having received ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification as well.
In addition, our nurses and our surgical staff graduated from a High Fidelity Human Simulation Course during which they were trained in the most current techniques to treat sedated patients and manage medical emergencies.
The administrative staff at Saratoga County Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates includes up-to-date and informed front desk personnel who facilitate the scheduling, confirmation and coordination of patient appointments. In addition, we also have a billing specialist on staff familiar with many insurance plans, claim submissions and reimbursement schedules. All of our administrative staff members are BLS (Basic Life Support – CPR) certified.
